The Supercargo Attendance is often called upon in situations that require expertise in a particular type of cargo (steel cargo, wood logs, wood pulp, bagged cargo, etc.), as well as in complex operations involving sensitive, valuable or dangerous cargo (project cargo).
Its main function is to plan and coordinate the operation, mediating communication between the parties involved (port operator, shipper, ship’s command, etc.), mitigating possible setbacks in the operation and optimizing the available spaces (cargo area), ensuring together with the ship’s command that the stowage and securing of the cargo is carried out safely and efficiently.
